Considered one of the pioneering web series, this critically acclaimed series from Daryn Strauss following the desperate and absurd choices of middle class New Yorkers during the economic crisis has been viewed more than half a million times online and was listed on Best of the Web lists from the Los Angeles Times, The Guardian, Indiewire, Boston Globe, Fast Company, and more. The series was also an Official Selection at the Cologne Conference in Germany and a special YouTube pick. In 2012, Daryn was nominated for a Writers Guild Award for the series.

Constructed as a series of short vignettes, each of the first few episodes focuses on different characters (an account manager who gets downsized in a super humiliating way; a stressed out lawyer who finally realizes his office cleaning lady is an actual human; his estranged wife, who works in HR and has hired a smarmy efficiency expert to cut as many corners as possible; a pageant coach in credit card debt who is milking a pageant dad who has a crush on her; and a former finance exec who is working as a temp and trying to launch an economic crisis based self-help program on YouTube). As you watch further, these stories start to intertwine and the connections between the characters emerge as they cross paths in each other's episodes. The series was recognized for its realistic though humorous depiction of middle class struggles during the economic crisis.
