About Me
Daryn Strauss is a Writers Guild Award winning writer, producer, and director who has won numerous awards on projects that have spanned digital, social media, live, and TV and have garnered over 250 million views. Raised in a multicultural NJ family of latin percussionists and strong women, Daryn is known for her sassy sharp wit and her passion for writing strong female leads and for empowering female creators.
As the Founder and CEO of Digital Chick TV, she has developed, written, or produced multi-platform projects for a variety of clients that have won recognition from the Writers Guild Awards, Emmys, IAWTV Awards, and Indie Series Awards for NBCUniversal, PBS, Sony Music, AOL, and more. The company was born out of Daryn’s blog celebrating the work of women in web series.
She won a Writers Guild Award for Weight, her comedy about life after reality TV weight loss. She was previously nominated for a Writers Guild Award for her web series Downsized, recognized by the Los Angeles Times, Boston Globe, and The Guardian as one of the best series on the web. She also served as the programming director for the EMMY nominated series MAKERS: Women Who Make America (narrated by Meryl Streep), directing the biggest content activation in AOL & PBS history as well as a premiere at Lincoln Center. To launch Former MTV Chief Judy McGrath’s digital media studio with Sony Music, she created #DAYOFF, a social media twist on Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. She also served as a writer on the EMMY winning The Lizzie Bennet Diaries. Most recently, she wrote, produced, and directed I AM YOU, a social media thriller for the Rizzle app, receiving multiple nominations at the Indie Series Awards and the IAWTV Awards.
Daryn has served as a producer and/or director of 40+ major national events and conferences, including numerous NewFronts and the digital experience for NBCU's Upfront at Radio City Music Hall. Throughout the pandemic, she oversaw production for American Association of Advertising Agencies (4A's) slate of live events and conferences.
